COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE THIRD MEETING OF THE PAN CARIBBEAN PARTNERSHIP AGAINST HIV/AIDS, 12-13 NOVEMBER 2003, GEORGETOWN, GUYANA

The Third Annual General Meeting of the Pan-Caribbean Partnership Against HIV/AIDS (PANCAP) was held in Georgetown, Guyana on 12-13 November 2003, under the Chairmanship of the Hon. Dr. Leslie Ramsammy, Minister of Health, Republic of Guyana, assisted by Deputy Chairperson, H.E. Ms. Dolores Balderamas Garcia, Ambassador/Chairperson National AIDS Commission, Belize.


OPENING CEREMONY

The Opening Ceremony was chaired by Dr. Edward Greene, Assistant Secretary-General, Human and Social Development, Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat.

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE SIXTH MEETING OF THE COUNCIL FOR FOREIGN AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS, 8-9 MAY 2003, KINGSTOWN, ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES.

The Sixth Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) was held in Kingstown, St Vincent on 8-9 May, 2003. The Ministers attending were: the Hon Frederick Mitchell, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Public Service, The Bahamas; the Hon Godfrey Smith, Attorney General and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Belize; the Hon. The 14th Inter-Sessional Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) was held in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on 14-15 February 2003. It was presided over by immediate past Chairman, H.E. Bharrat Jagdeo, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, in the absence of the Chairman, Hon. Pierre Charles, Prime Minister of Dominica who was indisposed.

The Ninth Caribbean Community (CARICOM)–Japan Consultation was held at MITA KAIGISHO Conference Hall in Tokyo on 5-6 November 2002. The delegation of CARICOM was headed by Ms. Fay Housty, Director of Foreign Policy and External Economic Relations of the CARICOM Secretariat and that of Japan by Ken Shimanouchi, Director-General of the Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
