COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE TWENTY-FIFTH MEETING OF THE CONFERENCE OF HEADS OF GOVERNMENT OF THE CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY, 4-7 JULY 2004, ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA

The Twenty-Fifth Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community was held in Grand Anse, Grenada from 4 to 7 July 2004. Dr. the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell, Prime Minister of Grenada and Chairman of CARICOM presided over the Meeting of the Conference, the work programme of which sought to advance the process of regional integration.

GEORGETOWN COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE MEETING OF MINISTERIAL REPRESENTATIVES OF G90 COUNTRIES, 3-4 JUNE 2004, GEORGETOWN, GUYANA

We, the Ministerial Representatives responsible for trade, meeting in Georgetown, Guyana, on the 3rd and 4th June, 20041, examined the state of progress in the negotiations in the World Trade Organisation [WTO] based on the mandates of the Fourth and Fifth Ministerial Conferences held at Doha and Cancun respectively with a view to identifying common elements for a G90 platform as a contribution to the G90 Ministerial Meeting scheduled in Mauritius on 12-14 July 2004;

The Special Meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD): Culture was convened at the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat Headquarters, Bank of Guyana Building, Georgetown, Guyana on 2-3 June 2004 under the Chairmanship of the Hon. Edward Hart, Minister of State in the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs, Trinidad and Tobago.

JOINT COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE MEETING BETWEEN THE TROIKA OF THE EUROPEAN UNION AND CARIFORUM HEADS OF STATE AND OF GOVERNMENT, 29 MAY 2004, GUADALAJARA, MEXICO

The Heads of State and of Government of Caribbean ACP States (CARIFORUM) and the European Union represented by the Troika, met in Guadalajara Mexico on 29 May 2004, on the occasion of the III Summit of Heads of State and of Government of the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean. They reaffirmed their commitment to the principles and priorities established by previous summits held in Rio de Janeiro 1999, Madrid in 2002, and the recently concluded Summit held in Guadalajara.

The Seventeenth Meeting of the Bureau of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) with participation by the Core Group on Haiti, was held at the Office of the Prime Minister, St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda on 4-5 May 2004, under the Chairmanship of Hon. Baldwin Spencer, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda and Chairman of the Conference of Heads of Government.

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE MEETING OF MEMBERS OF THE CARICOM MINISTERIAL SUB-COMMITTEE FOR RESOURCE MOBILISATION FOR CRIME AND SECURITY AND A UNITED KINGDOM SENIOR LEVEL TIME ON SECURITY COOPERATION, 3 MARCH 2004, KINGSTON, JAMAICA

Members of the CARICOM Ministerial Sub-Committee for Resource Mobilisation for Crime and Security met with a UK Senior Level Team on Security Cooperation at the Hilton Hotel, Kingston Jamaica on 3 March 2004. The aim of the meeting was to follow up the discussions at the Breakfast meeting between UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and Prime Minister PJ Patterson, Chair of CARICOM and other CARICOM Heads of Government in London, December 2003.
