JOINT COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE SEVENTH CARICOM - JAPAN CONSULTATION, 8-9 NOVEMBER

The Seventh Caribbean Community (CARICOM)-Japan Consultation was held in Georgetown, Guyana, on 8-9 November 1999. The Japanese Delegation was headed by Mr. Takahiko Horimura, Director-General of the Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan and the Delegation of CARICOM Member States was headed by H.E Ms. Elisabeth Harper, Director, Department of the Americas and Asia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guyana.

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE SIXTH SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CONFERENCE OF HEADS OF GOVERNMENT OF THE CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY, 16 APRIL 1999, SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community at the Sixth Special Meeting of the Conference held on 16th April 1999 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, reviewed the impact on the Caribbean Community of the rulings by the WTO Panel on the revised European Union Banana Regime.

As a result of the deliberations, the CARICOM leaders issued the following statement:

JOINT COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE FOURTH CARICOM-CENTRAL AMERICA MINISTERIAL MEETING, 22 MARCH 1999, GEORGETOWN, GUYANA

  1. The Fourth CARICOM-Central America Ministerial Meeting was held in Georgetown, Guyana, 22 March 1999. Ministers welcomed the Dominican Republic and expressed their satisfaction at that country's participation in the Meeting.

  2. Ministers met to analyse the development of relations between both sub-regions with the objective of continuing to advance issues of mutual interest, in an open spirit of cooperation among all the States taking part in this dialogue.
