CARIFESTA XIII ends in true Regional integration style



The Region’s cultural performers transformed the Kensington Oval in Barbados into a sea of Regional integration as they brought the curtains down on CARIFESTA XIII, Sunday night.  The Closing Ceremony for the ten-day festival featured performances from some of the region’s top music and dance groups, steel bands, and individual artistes, while delegates and patrons partied to the regional cultural mix.

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart and President of the Republic of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, have expressed a keen desire for both countries to strengthen and expand their 50-year-old friendship.

Climate change, disaster prevention highlighted during Chilean President’s visit to CDEMA

 

There is a lot that Barbados could learn from Chile, especially given that country’s experience with seismic matters.

Minister of Home Affairs, Adriel Brathwaite, made this point today during a press briefing, following the official visit of the President of the Republic of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, at the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency’s (CDEMA) Lower Estate, St. Michael headquarters.
