The CARICOM-Mexico Summit set for Wednesday 25 October 2017 in Belize is seen as a pivotal opportunity for the Caribbean Community to strengthen cooperation with Mexico, one of the world’s largest integrated economies.
The Summit, at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Plaza, brings together CARICOM Heads of Government and their Foreign Ministers, and the President of Mexico and his Foreign Minister.

Parts of South Asia have faced floods, leading to hundreds of deaths. In Africa, Commonwealth member states have had to contend with the dual perils of mudslides and desertification.

The Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) has approved the Regional Agriculture Emergency Response Sub-Committee to provide prompt action to help the agriculture sector in Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Member States to rebound after natural disasters.
Approval came at the 71st Special Meeting of the COTED on Agriculture held at the CARICOM Secretariat on Friday 6 October, 2017.
