THE CARICOM ENERGY POLICY IN BULLETS
GOAL/VISION: Fundamental transformation of the energy sectors of the Member States of the Community through the provision of secure and sustainable supplies of energy in a manner which minimizes energy waste in all sectors, to ensure that all CARICOM citizens have access to modern, clean and reliable energy supplies at affordable and stable prices, and to facilitate the growth of internationally competitive Regional industries towards achieving sustainable development of the Community.
PANCAP HOLDS THIRD CAPACITY-BUILDING WORKSHOP FOR PLH
(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Approximately fifty persons living with HIV (PLH) from 16 Caribbean countries will be trained at a capacity-building workshop hosted by the Pan Caribbean Partnership against HIV and AIDS Coordinating Unit (PANCAP) and the Caribbean Network for People Living with HIV and AIDS.
With funding support from the Global Fund Round 9 Grant, the workshop will be held on 21-22 May, 2013, in Trinidad and Tobago, and is the third workshop on the Caribbean HIV epidemic and the regional response for PLH.

So said CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, as he addressed the opening session of the 16th meeting of CARICOM’s Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) at the Trinidad Hilton Hotel and Conference Centre, Port of Spain, on Monday night. The Council’s two day working sessions began on Tuesday morning.
COFCOR And Community Council Meet In Port Of Spain This Week
(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Trinidad and Tobago will be the venue this week for two Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Ministerial Council meetings.
The Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) will meet on Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th while the Community Council will meet on Thursday 16th. Both meetings will be at the Trinidad Hilton Hotel and Conference Centre in Port of Spain.
SOME IMPORTANT DECISIONS BY ENERGY MINISTERS AT THE 41ST COTED ENERGY
In addition to the approval of the CARICOM Energy Policy and regional level targets for Renewable Energy (RE) contribution to electricity generation of 20%, 28% and 47% for years 2017, 2022 and 2027 respectively, Energy Ministers also approved and agreed on a number of areas for supporting sustainable energy development in CARICOM.
