EPA Key to The Bahamas’ Value Added Trade Strategy
(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Bahamas is pursuing a value added trade strategy. Authorities are seeking to more intensively position the country as a hub in global value chains, in the first instance drawing on, thereby better integrating, production networks across regional states in order to source primary and intermediate inputs for further production and export. The Caribbean Forum of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (CARIFORUM)-European Union (EU) Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) figures prominently, in this regard.

CARICOM AND US SIGN TRADE AND INVESTMENT FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT
CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the United States signed a Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) today in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. CARICOM Chairman, His Excellency Michel Martelly, the President of Haiti and Mr Joseph Biden the Vice President of the United States signed on behalf of the two sides.
The signing ceremony took place following a meeting between CARICOM Heads of Government and the US Vice President at the Diplomatic Centre in Port of Spain.

The Bahamas forging ahead with EPA Implementation
