Foreign affairs officials advanced preparations for ministerial talks in Dominica

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Georgetown, Guyana) - Senior foreign affairs officials met via video conference anchored at the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat on April 29-30 to review and finalise the foreign policy matters that will be placed on the agenda of the 27th Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) scheduled for 23-24 May in Roseau, Dominica.

Veterinarians at forefront of 25 by 2025 initiative

Veterinarians continue to be at the forefront of the Region’s quest to reduce its food import bill by 25 per cent by 2025.

The acknowledgment came at the opening of the Twenty-Fourth Meeting of the Chief Veterinary Officers (CVOs) in Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, on Thursday, 25 April 2024, where speakers highlighted the CVOs’ role in the development of the agriculture sector and in improving intra-regional trade

Caribbean Women Awarded for Outstanding Contributions to Energy, Climate Resilience 

Five women, who have made outstanding contributions to energy and climate resilience in the Caribbean, on Friday received the CARICOM Women in Sustainable Energy (W.I.S.E) Awards at the 16th Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum (CREF) held in Miami, Florida.

The Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE), the CARICOM Secretariat and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) partnered to make the awards a reality.

Redouble efforts to champion digital gender equality - CARICOM SG

  In the face of the widening digital gender gap, Dr. Carla Barnett, CARICOM Secretary-General has called for a redoubling of efforts to champion digital gender equality initiatives in the Region. She also recommended a reinforced determination to amplify the voices of women and girls in the ICT sector.

Biodiversity values fundamental to Region's future

Our Caribbean Community is one of the biodiversity hotspots of the world, home to plants and animals that are found nowhere else. We are proud of that accolade and are steadfast in our efforts to manage and protect our biodiversity.

Regional Statisticians meet in Georgetown

Statisticians from across the Region are in Guyana for a training programme on statistical data and metadata eXchange (SDMX). The workshop, hosted by the CARICOM Secretariat in collaboration with the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), is being held at the Bureau of Statistics office in Georgetown. It began on Monday, 22 April, and will conclude on Friday, 26 April.
