Your posting here in Guyana would be the second time that our paths have crossed professionally, following one of your stints in Barbados while I served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Dominica.

SG CALLED ON US TO GIVE CLIMATE CHANGE COMMITME

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is urging the United States to commit to the outcome of the Cancun Climate Change Conference.

CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque made the call at the accreditation ceremony of the new US Ambassador to the Community, His Excellency D, Brent Hardt at the CARICOM Secretariat’s Georgetown, Guyana headquarters on Tuesday.

CARICOM fields electoral observer mission to Saint Lucia

  (CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) will mount an Observer Mission to elections in Saint Lucia on 28 November 2011. The 10-member team will be headed by Chief of Mission, Ambassador Rudy Collins of Guyana. Deputy Chief of Mission is Mr. Eugene Petty of St. Kitts and Nevis.

TRINIDAD HOSTS HIGH LEVEL CARICOM-JAPAN PUBLIC-PRIVATE ECONOMIC FORUM

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Member States will on Tuesday 22 November participate in a high level public-private sector business seminar with Japan, in Trinidad and Tobago.

The CARICOM-Japan Business Seminar is part of a wider CARICOM-Japan Public-Private Joint Economic Mission from 20-25 November 2011, to explore investment opportunities in the Region. This Mission is as a direct result of a meeting between CARICOM Foreign Ministers and their Japanese counterpart in Tokyo, August 2010.

TRADE MINISTERS MOVING TOWARDS CHARTING A NEW PATH

 
 

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Trade Ministers have begun discussions on how to strategically position the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) to deliver on its mandates to the Community.

Hensley Robinson heads CARICOM electoral observer mission to Guyana

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Mr Hensley Robinson Chief Elections Officer of Barbados will lead a 22-member Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Electoral Observer Mission to the Guyana Elections which are scheduled to be held on Monday 28 November 2011.

PANCAP TO HOST MIGRATION AND HIV ROUNDTABLE MEETING AT CHIV

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Pan Caribbean Partnership against HIV and AIDS (PANCAP) in collaboration with the German Technical Cooperation Agency (GIZ), EPOS Health Management (EPOS) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) will host a Roundtable under the theme “How to Improve Access to HIV Services for Migrants in the Caribbean” at the 2011 Caribbean HIV and AIDS Conference (CHIV) in The Bahamas.
