Antigua: Message for Caricom energy awareness week 2012

Fellow Citizens and Residents of Antigua and Barbuda:
The use of energy in its various forms is essential to all forms of economic and social development and this year’s celebration of CARICOM Energy Week provides us with an opportunity to reflect on the uses of energy in Antigua and Barbuda and to develop strategies for promoting its efficient and sustainable use. The theme adopted for this week’s activities is “Changing Energy Habits today for Antigua and Barbuda’s tomorrow”. This is derived from the overall CARICOM theme which is “Sustainable Energy Powering a Green Economy”.

Arrival statement of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) electoral observer mission to the 2011 general elections in the Republic of Guyana

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) was invited by the Government of the Republic of Guyana to establish a Mission to observe the 2011 General Elections.

In response to that invitation a fifteen (15) member Observer Group under the leadership of Mr. Hensley Robinson of Barbados and Ms. Lorna Simon of Antigua and Barbuda was selected with the Core Group of Mr. Robinson and Ms. Simon arriving in Guyana on Tuesday, 22 November 2011.

CARICOM WOOS JAPANESE INVESTORS

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Member States earlier this week showcased to Japanese businessmen the opportunities available in the Region, particularly in the energy, natural resources and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sectors.

CARICOM NATIONAL CONSULTATION ON YOUTH GANG VIOLENCE SET FOR TRINIDAD

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Trinidad and Tobago is set to host the next national consultation on youth gangs and gang violence on Friday, November 25.

This is the fourth country earmarked for the pilot intervention on youth gangs and gang violence - the other three being Belize, Guyana and St Kitts and Nevis.
