The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is mounting a CARICOM Electoral Observer Mission to monitor the general elections to be held in Jamaica, Thursday 25 February 2016.

The Mission is being headed by Ms. Josephine Tamai, Chief Elections Officer, Elections and Boundaries Department, Belize.

The other members of the Mission comprise experts in electoral management and administration from Barbados, The Bahamas, Dominica, Saint Lucia,  St. Kitts and Nevis,   St Vincent and the Grenadines, and  Trinidad and Tobago.

The Twenty-Seventh Inter-Sessional Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) was held at Placencia, Belize on 16-17 February 2016.  The Prime Minister of Belize, the Honourable Dean Barrow, chaired the proceedings.

Caribbean Community (CARICOM) leaders have agreed to maintain the diplomatic engagement at international levels in support of the 1.5°C goal coming out of the COP 21 Agreement signed in Paris, France, last year.

Unfortunately, Mr. Marie is unable to attend this Meeting, but he extends his best wishes for a fruitful engagement.

CARICOM Heads of Government deliberated on the issue of crime and security and agree to increase their cooperation and collaboration in this area.
