Final Report - Report of the CARICOM Regional Commission on Marijuana

Responding to the increasing calls from the public, NGOs and other stakeholders in the region and amidst the changing global environment, the CARICOM Conference of Heads of Government at its Twenty-Fifth Inter-Sessional Meeting convened in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, 10 -11 March 2014, mandated the establishment of a Commission to interrogate the issue of possible reform to the legal regimes regulating cannabis/ marijuana in CARICOM countries.

Regional statisticians meeting in Georgetown to prepare for 2020 Census

Member States begin their census exercises from next year until 2022.

The statisticians and other stakeholders began a week-long meeting at the CARICOM Secretariat on Monday. Their activities include a meeting of the Regional Census Coordinating Committee (RCCC) and a Training Workshop in Census Management and Planning.

CARICOM Fights Against Gun Crime

The  Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS), with funding from the 10th European Development Fund Project (EDF), delivered  advanced training on double casting techniques to local law enforcement ballistics specialists during the period July 10-13, 2018, in St. Kitts and Nevis.  The training, consistent with international standards, was conducted by  Arquebus, a UK based company specialising in ballistics intelligence. 

Health, Education Benefits for Spouses and Dependents of CARICOM Nationals

Spouses and dependents of Caribbean Community (CARICOM) nationals, who relocate to other Member States, will now be entitled to access benefits such as health and education services, which were not previously afforded to them.

This applies to individuals and their families, who move across the region to work, provide services and establish companies within the framework of the free movement regime under the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).
