CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     Secretary General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Ambassador Irwin LaRocque praised Grenada for leading by example in using Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to create an enabling environment to pursue its social and economic development goals.
The Secretary-General was speaking during a ceremony at the CARICOM Secretariat in Georgetown Guyana where he received the credentials of Grenada’s new Ambassador to the Community, His Excellency Patrick Antoine.

Newly appointed Grenadian Ambassador to CARICOM says Reform Process is to be applauded

That was the sentiment expressed by newly appointed Plenipotentiary Representative of Grenada to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) His Excellency Patrick Antoine.
The Ambassador was speaking during a ceremony at the CARICOM Secretariat in Georgetown Guyana where he handed over his credentials to Secretary General of the Caribbean Community Ambassador Irwin LaRocque.

CARIFORUM and EU reaffirm commitment to trade and development partnership

CARIFORUM and European Union (EU) trade officials held a one-day meeting in Grenada on Thursday 21 November, at which they reaffirmed the two regions' commitment to their close trade and development partnership.

The two sides discussed progress made so far in putting the CARIFORUM-EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) into practice. The EPA aims to promote trade and investment, underpin regional integration, and foster sustainable development.

Ensure projects agreed upon, adress challenges of Member States - Secretary General urges CARIFORUM Ministers

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Caribbean Forum of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (CARIFORUM), Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, on Thursday urged CARIFORUM Ministers to ensure projects agreed upon address challenges faced by Member States.

He was speaking during the Twenty-first Meeting of the CARIFORUM Council of Ministers held in Grenada on October 31, 2013. 

Grenada to establish ICT Centre of Excellence

ST GEORGES, Grenada (GIS) – Grenada, with the support of the Indian government, is establishing a Centre of Excellence in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Under the project – the first of its kind in the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) – India is providing equipment for ICT Centre, which is expected to open by September.

The project involves the upgrading and expanding of an existing facility of the Grenada Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) in St Georges.

 

Grenada seeking to overhaul electoral system

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, CMC – Grenada is examining the possibility of establishing an Elections Boundaries Commission as it seeks to overhaul its electoral system, a senior government official has said.
Parliamentary Secretary for Information in the Office of the Prime Minister, Winston Garraway, said the pledge by the   Organization of American States (OAS) to provide financial and technical could be used by St. George’s to establish the commission as part of the  overhaul of the current administrative structure of the Parliament Elections Office.
