The internationalisation of higher education has expanded opportunities for the movement of students across national boundaries. National Qualifications Frameworks have been established in many countries to improve access to higher and different levels of education and training and to facilitate educational and labour market mobility. Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland and

South Africa have all maintained national frameworks that have increased the transparency of their qualifications. A Qualifications Framework serves as an instrument for classifying qualifications according to a set of criteria for different levels of learning outcomes.
