The Health Sector Development Programme has at the core of its objectives, improving systems and developing policies and strategies to raise health standards. The Programme works in collaboration with Member States, regional institutions, International Development Partners, and civil society to achieve regional public goods.
The Programme also coordinates and provides technical input to the development, implementation, and monitoring of policies and programmes aimed at improving the health, wealth, and well-being of the citizens of the Community.
· Caribbean Cooperation in Health (CCH)
Programme activities are guided by the strategic health priorities of the Community outlined in the Caribbean Cooperation in Health (CCH) Health Initiative. First outlined in 1984, it provides a framework for CARICOM Member States to efficiently and effectively address common health and development challenges.
This flagship framework is supported through the governance structure of a Secretariat with support from a technical advisory body and implementation by Member States, coordinated by the CARICOM Secretariat.
