COMMUNIQUE OF THE EIGHTH MEETING OF THE CONFERENCE OF HEADS OF GOVERNMENT OF THE CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY, 29 JUNE-3 JULY 1987, CASTRIES, SAINT LUCIA

The Eight Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean community was held in Castries, Saint Lucia from 29 June 1987 to 3 July 1987. For the first time since that Inaugural Meeting of the Conference in Saint Lucia in 1974, all Member States were represented by their Heads of Government. The Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community held its Seventh Meeting in Georgetown, Guyana from 1st to 4th July, 1986. The Sixth Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community was held at Sam Lord's Castle, St. Philips, Barbados, from 1-4 July 1985. COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT CONCLUSION OF SECOND CONFERENCE OF HEADS OF GOVERNMENT OF THE CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY, 8-10 DECEMBER 1975, BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS-NEVIS-ANGUILLA

Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community and their advisers concluded three days of intensive deliberations this afternoon in Basseterre, St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla, against the background of the global and regional economic situation, in the course of which the Conference took decisions on a wide range of matters aimed at improving the quality of life in all CARICOM countries.

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF HEADS OF GOVERNMENT OF THE CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY, 26-27 JANUARY, 1974, BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS

A Special meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) took place in Barbados on 26th and 27th January, 1974 .

All the four Member States of the Community were represented: Barbados by the Rt. Hon. Errol Barrow, Prime Minister; Guyana by Hon. Forbes Burnham, Prime Minister; Jamaica by Hon Michael Manley, Prime Minister; and Trinidad and Tobago by Hon. George Chambers, Minister of Finance.

COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE SEVENTH HEADS OF GOVERNMENT CONFERENCE OF COMMONWEALTH CARIBBEAN COUNTRIES 9-14 OCTOBER 1972, CHAGUARAMAS, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

The Seventh Heads of Government Conference of Commonwealth Caribbean Countries has agreed that the Caribbean Free Trade Association (CARIFTA) will become a Common Market on 1st May, 1973, the fifth Anniversary of CARIFTA.

The Conference was described by delegates in closing speeches as the most important, historic and epoch-making to be held in the Commonwealth Caribbean.
