It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Thirty-Fifth Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). It is also my pleasure to welcome to the post of Chairman, the Honourable Gaston Browne, our host Prime Minister, who is participating in his first meeting of the Conference and starts at the helm.

PM Douglas, CARICOM leaders tackle issues at 35th CARICOM Heads Meeting

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 1ST 2014 (CUOPM) – The Federation’s Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is leading the St. Kitts and Nevis delegation to the 35th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Caribbean Heads of Government in Antigua and Barbuda.

Prime Minister Douglas is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Hon. Patrice Nisbett, Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Astona Browne and Mrs. Neys Chiverton-Dockery, Senior Foreign Service Officer.

New Strategic Plan among measures for CARICOM Heads

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     The first ever Strategic Plan for the Caribbean Community will be among major items for consideration by regional leaders at their 35th annual CARICOM Heads of Government conference in Antigua/Barbuda, July 1-4 2014.
The meeting will be chaired by the newly elected Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Hon. Gaston Browne.

Browne to chair Caricom meeting in Antigua

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Heads of Government are on island this week to look at issues affecting the Caribbean Community and to plot the path for the next five years.

The occasion is the 35th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of the Caribbean Community, which will run from July 1-4.

Ambassador Dr Clarence Henry said the meeting is a significant event.

This is the Regional Body which has been advising our Ministers of Culture for the past 27 years on shaping national and regional cultural policy and programmes as well as on addressing critical matters on the regional culture agenda.
