Premier Romeo briefs EU-OCT meeting on potential of geothermal energy

The Hon. Premier of Montserrat, Donaldson Romeo made a presentation this morning (Friday 27th February 2015) on geothermal energy at the conference of the European Commission and EU Overseas Countries and Territories being held in Tortola British Virgin Islands.

Mr Romeo was at the time taking part in a round table event captioned ” Regional Cooperation: Unlocking the Potential of OCTs”.

It was part of the 13th Overseas Countries and Territories – European Union Forum, which ends today.

Statement by Hon Gaston Browne MP Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda at the Opening of the CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting In Nassau, Bahamas

I thank Prime Minister Perry Christie and the people and government of The Bahamas for the warm welcome given to all the participants in this meeting.
We have no doubt that under Prime Minister Christie’s chairmanship, the outcomes of this meeting will be beneficial to the people of the Caribbean Community who have entrusted us with a mandate to manage their regional affairs.
 
As I formally hand-over the gavel of chairmanship of CARICOM, I would like to reflect briefly on the period of my own stewardship of the Community’s affairs.

It was a very proud moment for me to assume the role of Chairman of Conference of the Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community for the period 1st January 2015 to 30th June 2015. It is also a very proud moment for me, my Government and the people of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to have the honour of hosting this Twenty-Sixth Inter-Sessional Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community here in Nassau.

Barbados Prime Minister for CARICOM Inter-sessional Meeting

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart is scheduled to leave the island tomorrow, Wednesday, February 25, to attend the Twenty-Sixth Inter-sessional Meeting of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), which gets under way in The Bahamas, from February 26 to 27.

As incoming Chair of the regional group, Barbados’ Prime Minister will be a member of the Bureau of the Conference for the period January 1 - June 30, and will Chair the CARICOM Heads of Government Conference from July 1 to December 31, this year.

Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Hon. Perry Christie, Prime Minister of The Bahamas, on Wednesday provided updates to the House of Assembly of The Bahamas on the CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting which he will host next week.

P.J Patterson passes “Reparations Torch” to Prime Minister Gaston Browne at Second Regional Conference on Reparations

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkey, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     The Most Hon. P. J. Patterson, former Prime Minister of Jamaica, in a rousing address to the Opening Ceremony of the Second Regional Conference on Reparations in Antigua and Barbuda on Sunday night, gave the charge and entrusted the continuity of the pursuit of Reparations for Native Genocide and Slavery, to the Hon. Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda.

UNSIDS Conference outcome important for CARICOM
