The Pan-Caribbean Partnership Against HIV and AIDS (PANCAP) hosted a one-day workshop on ‘Data for Decision Making’ on Friday, March 10 in Port of Spain, Republic of Trinidad and Tobago for fifteen (15) National AIDS Programme (NAP) Managers from Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Commonwealth of Dominica, Guyana, Grenada, Montserrat,  Turks and Caicos Islands, Trinidad and Tobago,  Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Lucia.            

Prime Minister Chastanet honours Sir Derek as an icon

Prime Minister Allen Chastanet has offered condolences to the wife and family of Saint Lucian poet, playwright, and Nobel Laureate, Sir Derek Alton Walcott.

Sir Derek passed this morning, March 17, at his home in Cap Estate, Saint Lucia. He was 87 years old.

On behalf of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), I wish to express profound sympathy on the passing of internationally acclaimed Caribbean poet and playwright, Saint Lucian born, Nobel Laureate, Sir Derek Walcott, OCC.

Finland signals interest in CARICOM’s bioenergy

The Government of Finland, through its newly accredited envoy to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), has expressed strong interest in exploring the bioenergy potential in mainland territories of CARICOM.

Speaking at the ceremony for the presentation of his Letter of Credence to CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque  on Thursday 16 March 2017, the new Finnish Ambassador, His Excellency Kukka Pietikaine said his country wanted to continue cooperation in renewable energy technologies.
