(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) CARICOM Immigration and Customs Officers will undergo training next week to clarify the roles and functions of Border Officers. The training is also geared at ensuring that there is a common understanding of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) in general, and the Free Movement of Persons (FMP) in particular.
Nationals of Trinidad and Tobago who won places in the CARICOM Energy Month Photography and Art and Video competitions, received their prizes earlier this week.
The prizes were presented to the winners at a simple ceremony held at the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, Trinidad and Tobago.

Assistant Secretary General In Charge of Human and Social Development at the CARICOM Secretariat Dr, Douglas Slater has highlighted a number of areas where progress has been made in youth development in the Region. New York, 5 June — Warning that the special relationship between people and the ocean that brings untold benefits for life is under threat as never before, United Nations Secretary - General António Guterres told the opening of the Ocean Conference that the problems of the ocean — all created by human activity, can all be reversed and prevented with decisive, coordinated action. “ Oceans are a testing ground for t he principle of multilateralism, ” he said.
The global High Level Conference which will seek agreement on a Call For Action to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development opens Monday at UN Headquarters in New York.
