CARICOM TO FOCUS ON THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN IN CYBERSPACE

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat is hosting its first ever Children’s Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) festival on Friday 22 May from 9:30 a.m. to mark World Telecommunications and Information Society Day (WTISD) 2009.

WTISD is observed globally on the 17th of May and the theme for 2009, ‘Protecting Children in Cyberspace’, seeks to raise awareness about creating a secure online environment for children.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The co-ordination of foreign policy by Member States of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has served to help the Region make its mark in the global arena as a key player in international diplomacy.

NATIONAL SECURITY MINISTERS MEET IN SURINAME

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) CARICOM Ministers of National Security and Law Enforcement will meet in Suriname this week to discuss ways to boost the regional agenda for crime and security as they seek to step up the ongoing battle against crime and violence in the Region.
