CARICOM CHAIRMAN IN PRAISE OF JAMAICAN SPRINTERS

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Dr the Honourable Kenny Anthony, the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia has praised the achievements of the Jamaican sprinters at the London 2012 Olympics.

In a message to the Prime Minister of Jamaica the Most Honourable Portia Simpson-Miller, the CARICOM Chairman said their “achievements underline the ability of our Region to compete with and outshine the best in the world.” Mr Usain Bolt and Ms Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce won the 100 metre titles at the Olympics on the weekend.

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) It is a distinct pleasure for me to address this Second High Level Forum on Korea-Caribbean Partnership between the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Republic of Korea. It is a pleasure both because of the warm and friendly relations between the two sides and also because of the generous hospitality extended to us since our arrival here in this beautiful country. Having experienced the magnificent Yeosu Exposition yesterday and taken in some of your breathtaking scenery, it is a pity that our stay is so short.

AT SECOND HIGH LEVEL FORUM CARIBBEAN, KOREA FOCUS ON E-GOVERNMENT, RENEWABLE ENERGY

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Second High Level Forum between the Caribbean and Korea got underway on Tuesday morning in Seoul, Republic of Korea with the acknowledgement that the two parties shared common interests and encountered similar challenges, and could benefit from investment and shared knowledge.

EXPO 2012 YEOSU CELEBRATE CARICOM DAY

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has underscored the importance of its participation in, and expectations of the Exposition 2012 now underway in the Republic of Korea under the theme `The Living Ocean and Coast’.
