C-SERMS Phase II and Platform

The Caribbean Sustainable Energy Roadmap and Strategy (C-SERMS) is a regional energy planning, management and implementation framework being developed by CARICOM for expediting the implementation of the renewable energy and energy efficiency dimensions of the CARICOM ENERGY POLICY.

The CARICOM Energy Programme will continue its work with respect to the C-SERMS through the establishment of the C-SERMS Platform. The Platform is a coordination and knowledge sharing mechanism for the hosting of regular stakeholder discussions that are related to implementation of the renewable energy and energy efficiency dimensions of the CARICOM Energy Policy.

The Energy Programme will also this year be rolling out Phase II of the C-SERMS.  This Second Phase of the C-SERMS is intended to produce:

  • Accurate and integrated national and regional maps delineating the “develop-able Renewable Energy (RE) potential”;
  • Up-to-date national and regional roadmaps that outline “existing Energy Efficiency (EE) opportunities”
  • Indicate the amount of RE mix that Member States should be able to realistically integrate into their national energy, in particular electricity, matrices in support of the C-SERMS targets;
