Based on a mandate from the 41st Special Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) on Energy held in Trinidad and Tobago, March 2013, the CARICOM Secretariat has engaged the Caribbean Energy Information System (CEIS) towards collaboration in arriving at an improved approach to the sharing of energy information by the latter in support of the implementation of the Regional Energy Policy and C-SERMS. In April 2013, officials of the CARICOM Secretariat and CEIS engaged in a teleconference meeting and a workable approached was agreed on. To this end, the Energy Unit has since developed and submitted a proposal, for consideration by CEIS.
