PORT AU PRINCE, Haiti, CMC – At least 31 people were injured when a fire, believed to have been started through a combustible combination of Clorox and fertilizer, destroyed a government building in the capital.
Police said the blaze on Thursday also destroyed other businesses, including a market that sold used clothes, as well as destroying several vehicles that were parked outside.
The municipal co-ordinator for Haiti's Civil Protection Department, Gue Verlien, said while there were no deaths, those hurt were taken to two government-run hospitals and a medical centre run by the international humanitarian group Doctors Without Borders.
