Wendell Samuel

Dr Wendell Samuel is the Assistant Secretary-General at the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, bringing extensive experience in regional integration, policy coordination, and institutional development. His work focuses on advancing CARICOM’s strategic objectives through evidence-based policy formulation, stakeholder engagement, and effective programme oversight across priority sectors of the Community.

Dr Samuel has held a range of senior roles within the regional system, where he has contributed to strengthening governance frameworks, enhancing intergovernmental cooperation, and supporting the implementation of regional strategies aligned with sustainable development goals. His leadership is underpinned by strong analytical capability, a deep understanding of Caribbean political and socio-economic dynamics, and a commitment to fostering cohesion and resilience within the Community.
