(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Heads of Government have indicated their support of Haiti’s proposal to Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) and Confederation of North Central American and Caribbean Associations of Football (CONCACAF) for special consideration to contest the under-17 World Cup finals.
At the Twenty-Second Inter-Sessional CARICOM Summit held 25-26 February in Grand Anse, Grenada, CARICOM Heads of Government took note that the Heads of Government of Haiti and Jamaica regretted the circumstances that led to the withdrawal of the Haitian under-17 football team from the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying tournament, recently, in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

In this context, CARICOM leaders noted their support for demarches of Haiti towards the FIFA and CONCACAF to permit the team to participate in the World Cup Finals.
