CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Guyana) CARICOM Secretary-General, Edwin Carrington today expressed pleasure on learning of the return to work of the Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Hon. Perry Christie, after a recent illness.
Secretary-General Carrington who had a short telephone chat with the Prime Minister during his visit to Freeport, The Bahamas for meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Community Council of Ministers in early June said that when he spoke to the Prime Minister he felt reassured. There was no sign in his voice of the illness he had recently suffered. The Secretary-General wished the PM of The Bahamas an early return to his normal vibrant and enthusiastic self.
P.M. Christie is a member of the Community’s highest body – the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community - which will be meeting in Saint Lucia in early July.
