Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Saint Lucia's Prime Minister Dr the Hon. Kenny D Anthony is scheduled to arrive in Guyana on Sunday, September 13 for a one-day visit.
The purpose of Dr Anthony's visit is to met with the parties who are signatories to the Herdmanston Accord and the Saint Lucia Statement, the two CARICOM-brokered documents which set out the way forward for Guyana following post-December 15 general election unrest.
Following his meetings on Monday with both Her Excellency President Janet Jagan, who is political leader of the ruling People's Progressive Party/Civic and the Hon Desmond Hoyte, Political leader of the main opposition party, the People's National Congress, Dr Anthony will hold a press briefing at 2.30 p.m at the headquarters of the CARICOM Secretariat along with CARICOM Secretary General Mr Edwin Carrington.
The Chairman leaves Guyana on Monday evening.
