Jamaicans to vote 3 September 2020

Jamaicans will go to the polls on Thursday 3 September 2020.

Prime Minister Mr Andrew Holness announced the much anticipated election date during a special sitting of the House of Assembly on Tuesday, in which he also announced 18 August as Nominations Day.

Prime Minister Holness led his Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) to a narrow 32-31 victory over the Peoples National Party (PNP) in the last elections held in February 2016. The PNP which was led at the time by Ms Portia Simpson-Miller will go into the upcoming elections under the leadership of Mr Peter Phillips.
