Jan 08, 2013

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC –The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) on Monday called on government to honour the agreement reached with the Region Council that brought an end to the crisis in the mining town of Linden last year including the deaths of three people.
“Moreover, we are calling on the government to ensure that all the resources necessary are made available to facilitate the conclusion of the terms agreed upon in the agreement,” the private sector group said.
It called on all stakeholders to honour the commitments made in the agreement that brought an end to the Linden crisis situation in August 2012 between the Donald Ramotar government and The Region 10 Democratic Council.
