GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – President Donald Ramotar has written to members of the National Assembly urging them to ensure that the amendments to the anti-money laundering legislation is approved ahead of the international deadline.
In his letter, read out by Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, the head of state called on all legislators to put aside their differences and put the country first.
“I am calling on the parliamentary political parties and their representatives in the Parliamentary Special Select Committee on the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (Amendment) Bill to do all that is possible to complete the review on this Bill and return it to the House expeditiously.”
