Jul 15, 2013

NEW YORK, CMC – In the wake of the re-arrest of an opposition senator in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, an opposition Member of Parliament has expressed grave concern about the rule of law in the country. Senator Vynette Frederick was arrested and slapped with nine charges hours after the court dismissed six charges against her on Thursday. In addressing a town hall meeting on Saturday in Brooklyn, New Democratic Party (NDP) Member of Parliament for West Kingstown, Daniel Cummings, said the magistrate “did the only logical thing” in dismissing the “ridiculous” charges against Frederick.
