TURKS AND CAICOS-POLITICS-Former premier denies negotiating plea bargain

Aug 05, 2013

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands, CMC –Former premier Michael Misick has denied reports that he is negotiating a plea bargain with British and American law enforcement authorities.

Misick, who is in a Brazilian jail awaiting extradition to the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI), has dismissed the report that he is negotiating the plea bargain that would implicate United States citizens and senior politicians in Jamaica, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands.

In a hand-written letter to his brother Phillip Misick dated August 1, 2013, the former premier said the July 29th report on the on-line blog, the Turks and Caicos Islands Journal, under the headline "Michael Misick in plea bargain negotiations with Americans and SIPT" was part of an orchestrated plot “to destroy me.”
