ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, CMC – The troubled regional airline, LIAT, Wednesday denied media reports that smoke was seen coming from one of its aircraft that had developed a pressurization problem while on a flight from Dominica to Barbados on Tuesday night. LIAT, which earlier this week confirmed that one of its aircraft had experienced a “main wheel failure during takeoff,” said that the Tuesday flight with 18 passengers on board landed safely at the Grantley Adams International Airport. “The Barbados Airport Authorities, in keeping with their procedures, had their emergency equipment on alert in spite of the fact that the operating captain indicated that it was not an emergency situation and no assistance was required.
