BARBADOS-HEALTH-Barbados to host CAPSCA meeting

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC –Matters relating to public health event preparedness, response planning and management in the civil aviation sector will be discussed next week when Barbados hosts the Fifth Cooperative Arrangement for the Prevention of the Spread of Communicable Diseases through Air Travel (CAPSCA) meeting. Tourism and International Transport Minister Richard Sealy and Health Minister John Boyce will deliver addresses at the September 2-6 event that will be also be attended by representatives from regional and international organizations including the International Civil Aviation Organisation, (ICAO) the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization (WHO). The CAPSCA is a cooperative arrangement between international organisations including WHO and ICAO and the organizers said the meeting here will discuss “a range of issues that would assist them in tackling matters relating to public health”.
