BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Advocate - INCREASED productivity is the only way to maintain and improve the competitiveness of the Barbadian economy.

So says Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, Dr. Delisle Worrell, who stated that increased productivity would also help to secure growth and result in continued enhancement of the quality of life in this country.

Addressing the participants of the ‘Getting Everyone To Understand Productivity’ (GET UP) Programme, at Baobab Towers yesterday morning, Dr. Worrell said that Barbados competes by giving the best value for money and by providing a consumer experience which is second to none. He made the point as he noted that in the 2013 World Economic Forum report on travel and tourism competitiveness, Barbados was ranked as the most competitive in the Caribbean, with only the US and Canada ranking higher in the Americas.
