UNITED NATIONS, CMC – Grenada has asked the United Nations for assistance in establishing a one-stop crisis center for battered women and children.
Social Development Minister Delma Thomas made the request during talks with the Assistant Secretary General for UN Women, Lakshi Puri.
She told Puri that Grenada was grateful for the assistance on matters relating to gender equality and while the country had made progress in addressing the issue of violence against women, it is moving forward with a comprehensive policy that will guarantee their further empowerment.
