BRIDGETOWN, Barbados- No one today can imagine Barbados without the UWI.
This was the view expressed recently by Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus.
Professor Beckles recently argued that “modern Barbados is as much the creation of the UWI, as any single factor”.
“The role of this campus in the transformation of this country is arguably more obvious and evident or compelling than probably the impact of the other campuses on their island, largely because Cave Hill penetrates deeper into the small space than maybe Mona and St. Augustine, where there are other universities as well,” the UWI Principal stated.
