COMMUNITY COUNCIL LOOKS AT CARICOM REFORM

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana ) The Reform Process in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) including the Organisational Review of the Secretariat mandated by Heads of Government will be discussed when the Community Council of Ministers meet on 1 June 2012.

The day-long Thirtieth Meeting of the Council will be conducted via videoconferencing anchored at the CARICOM Secretariat in Georgetown, Guyana.

On Friday, Ministers will look at possible issues for the draft agenda for the upcoming Thirty Third Conference of the Heads of Government to be held in Saint Lucia form 4-6 July. The Ministers will also receive an update on preparations and the arrangements for the meeting.

Other subjects that will engage the Council, the second highest decision-making organ of the Community, include CARICOM’s support for Haiti; the role of public services in regional integration; and a status report on the revision of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas.
