CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque is currently engaging the Region’s youth on a wide range of subjects. The 5th social media interaction, hosted by CARICOM Youth Ambassadors, is being held ahead of the Thirty-Seventh Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM which opens Monday in Georgetown, Guyana.

The engagement is anchored at the CARICOM Secretariat.The special focus is on education and key elements of the discussions so far have included Information Communication Technology (ICT) and how youths are being prepared for the workforce; the strides of the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC); and animation.

The discussion also focused on other subjects ranging from opportunities for youth; the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME); human resource development in the Region; and Britain’s vote to leave the European Union.
