Raúl Castro Meets Presidents of Haiti, Guyana, Jamaica and Suriname

Havana.- President Raúl Castro has met the provisional President of Haiti, Jocelerme Privert; Guyanese President, David Granger; Suriname's Desire Delano Bouterse, and the Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, in Havana.

The Cuban head of State held talks on Sunday with the leaders of these Caribbean nations as they participated in the 7th Summit of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), which recently concluded in Havana, national television reported.

During the meeting between Raúl Castro and Privert, both leaders reviewed the cooperation Cuba has provided to Haiti in several sectors. The Caribbean country's commitment to continue supporting the recovery and development of the Haitian nation was underlined.

The two leaders also highlighted the good state of their bilateral relationship and exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest.

During the meeting between the heads of State of Cuba and Guyana, both sides called attention to the good state of their bilateral relationship and the positive results of cooperation in several fields.

Raúl Castro and Granger also discussed the regional project of the Development Stimulation Center for Children, Adolescents and Youth with Special Educational Needs, derived from the 5th Cuba-Caricom Summit which will be hosted by Guyana supported by Cuba.

Raúl Castro also met with the Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness. Both leaders noted the good state of their political and diplomatic relationship, and exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest.

The Cuban president also met with his Surinamese counterpart. The meeting between Raul Castro and Bouterse helped to confirm the good course of their bilateral ties, the positive results of cooperation in many fields and allowed an exchange of views on regional and international issues of common interest.
