The purpose of the forum was to provide an open exchange of information and experiences, networking and ‘idea mining’ on youth-friendly opportunities for business in the agriculture sector. The forum included presentations from various professionals within the agriculture field and included a tour of Grenada on the second day.

CARICOM Youth Ambassadors from Grenada Judd Cadet and Amanda Scott, who participated in the forum said they were happy with the fact that persons got the opportunity to tour the island. The site visits included the West Indian Spices Inc. at Niaganfoix, Birchgrove, where participants observed the extraction of oils from nutmeg and other local spices.  The participants later travelled to the Belmont Estate where they learnt about chocolate and goat cheese processing.

According to the CYAs the forum was very informative and entertaining.

We are inspired and ready to work to benefit the youth nationally and Regionally.  We believe that Agriculture is the main pillar of any country economy,” they said.
