CARICOM SECRETARY-GENERAL CONGRATULATES WEST INDIES CRICKET TEAM

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) extends heartiest congratulations to the West Indies cricket team on their glorious triumph at the International Cricket Council World T20 Championships. This sterling success of Mr. Darren Sammy and his team has engendered pride and joy throughout the Community and notches another world-leading performance for Caribbean sportsmen and women in 2012.
This win displayed commitment, self-belief, team spirit and determination which ensured that the West Indies emerged as champions. It is a moment for us all to savour as it demonstrates the strength of a united Region.
May this ascent to World Champions of T20 be the motivating force for West Indies cricket to scale even greater heights.
