CARICOM’s Assistant Secretary-General for Foreign and Community Relations, Ambassador Colin Granderson, in his capacity as Officer in Charge, met with Ambassador Paolo Serpi, Special Envoy of Italy for the Caribbean Countries, on 28 June 2015.
The objective of the visit was to strengthen existing cooperation ties, which, through the institutional framework of a Memorandum Of Understanding, provide assistance with regard to climate change through support for the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre, as well as capacity building in the areas of science and security (the fight against drug trafficking and illegal financial flows). There was also discussion on reciprocal support for candidatures.
