CASTRIES, St. Lucia, CMC-A Guyanese cargo vessel 'Lady Zai' remained quarantined in St.Lucia waters for the fifth day on Thursday as investigations continue into the death of a crew member, and the hospitalisation of another following the outbreak of a "communicable disease" on board.

As a result none of the remaining eight crew members have been allowed to disembark, while the cargo has not been offloaded.
Health authorities here called a news conference Wednesday to update the public on the unfolding situation regarding the vessel which arrived here on Sunday from Guyana with a crew of 10 and a consignment of corn and soya products, destined for the southern port of Vieux Fort.
