Guyana seeks technical support for oil and gas take-off

PRESIDENT David Granger on Thursday held discussions with top oil and gas officials of Trinidad and Tobago during a meeting at his Shiv Chanderpaul Drive office. T&T Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Ms. Nicole Olivierre and Deputy Permanent Secretary in her ministry, Mr. Andre Laveau, met with Mr. Granger and Guyana’s Minister of Natural Resources, Mr Raphael Trotman.

The Head of State said that as Guyana prepares to harness its oil and gas potential, the country is looking forward to technical support and cooperation from its CARICOM sister state.

Caribbean Export Creates Opportunities for Regional Trade between CARIFORUM and the FCOR & OCT Territories

The Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) hosted a Business Forum on June 25th, 2014 for private sector firms as well as other key stakeholders from CARIFORUM, the French Caribbean Outermost regions (FCORs) and EU Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) in the Caribbean, with the aim of facilitating greater trade between the territories on the island of Grand Cayman.

Take intra-regional trade seriously

This was the clear statement coming from Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development, Donville Inniss, as he stressed that an increase in the export of goods and services would be a critical driving force for the region to pull itself out of the economic crisis.

COTED engages private sector

CARICOM and Mexico leaders hold third summit

EU support boosts CARICOM Merchandise Trade Statistics

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     As efforts continue to provide core, high quality statistics to regional decision-makers for the establishment and monitoring of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), staff members of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat on Monday were brought up to date on new systems for Merchandise Trade Statistics. A consultancy in that regard got underway this week with a briefing session at the CARICOM Secretariat in Georgetown, Guyana.

3.2 Million Euros for the CARIFORUM Services Sector

Bridgetown, BARBADOS, February 14, 2014.  The Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) in conjunction with the implementing partners CARICOM Secretariat and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Dominican Republic (DICOEX) have been awarded responsibility for the implementation of a 3.2 million Euro programme by the European Union towards the implementation of the 10th EDF Services Sector Component.  Implementation of the services component will be a collaborative effort between the Agency and implementing partners CARICOM Secretariat and DICOEX.
