A revision of the Caribbean Community's draft Industrial Policy is necessary given the changing global and domestic economic environments, according to Dr. Wendell Samuel, CARICOM Assistant Secretary-General(Ag), Economic Integration, Innovation and Development.
“This project has a lot of potential to transform the Guyanese economy and the entire industry within CARICOM. One of the things that I like about the project is the integration of the community and the fact that the community [of Moblissa] is also being included and lifted up. I am also very happy to see today that Vision 25 x 2025 is not just a soundbite, it has underpinned this company’s goal and is part of their overall strategy.”

I am indeed happy, that since arriving on the weekend, many had the opportunity to attend both Miss SVG on Saturday night, and the adventurous field tour yesterday, which took us sailing along the Leeward Coast, and we were able to see the Windward side of the island up to Spring.
Today, we are ready for work!
As Chair of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), I am pleased to acknowledge CARICOM-Africa Day, an annual occasion which underscores our commitment to building stronger ties between the Caribbean Community and the African continent.
