This is due to several issues, including the fact that the CSME is not adequately incorporated into educational curricula and limited engagement and interest from youth. These barriers hinder their potential for growth and advancement through regional integration.

Friday, 1 September 2023 (CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown): Developing a “Regional Approach” to migration was the focus of a two-day workshop (24-25 August 2023) facilitated by CARICOM in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Bridgetown, Barbados.
CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr. Carla Barnett on Monday 5 September delivered the Second Distinguished Owen Arthur Memorial Lecture in Bridgetown, Barbados. The lecture was delivered under the theme 'The Future of CARICOM; Charting a Vision for the Region's Economic Advancement'.
It was organised by the the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, Shridath Ramphal Centre, and the Caribbean Development Bank.
