Upcoming 48th Regular Meeting is a meeting of great interest – Assistant Secretary-General, CARICOM

Assistant Secretary-General (ASG) for Foreign and Community Relations with the CARICOM Secretariat, Ms. Elizabeth Solomon, has described the upcoming 48th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government as a “meeting of great interest.”

Speaking ahead of the Conference, which is set for February 19-21 in Bridgetown, Barbados, Ms. Solomon noted that the meeting comes at a focal time for the hemisphere and will be an opportune moment to discuss CARICOM’s approach to various matters.

CARICOM SG: Upcoming CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting will assess rapidly-changing global landscape

CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr Carla Barnett, said that Heads of Government will assess challenges arising in the rapidly changing global context when they meet in Barbados from 19-21 February 2025 for the 48th Regular Meeting of the Conference.

 In a message ahead of the Meeting, Dr Barnett stated that the Community will seek to devise solutions that advance regional integration and economic and social development.

This discussion provided an opportunity to strategise projects such as the proposed CARICOM Youth Workshop and outreach campaigns aimed at enhancing youth representation and increasing public awareness of CARICOM’s mission.”
